Early September 2009

I came downstairs one morning after running up to get my shoes and this is what I found.

Lars loves sitting on Joe's lap...too bad he didn't like to do this when he was tiny!

Lars also thinks that because he matches our decor so nicely he should be allowed to sit on all the furniture...we disagree on this particular point.

hanging out in the driveway watching cyclists

Lars now weighs 56 pounds and we've been warned that he's going to be huge! Fortunately he's growing into a very loving guy and has all but stopped the puppy biting. He's doing great with all his commands, soaks up new information, games, tricks, like a sponge and is extremely curious.

Lars and Kaela's First Meeting

Our good friends the O'Deas have a female German Shepherd pup - Kaela - who is 6 weeks younger than Lars. They're already fast friends and love playing together!

Coot Lake - Early August

Look at those silly ears!

Don't be fooled...it isn't windy out...those crazy ears are just doing their own thing as they try to stand up - the evolution of the ears has been quite amusing!

Lars a.k.a. "Little Big Paw"

As you can see, Lars has been doing a lot of growing. He is a delightful puppy and we're having so much fun with him. He loves to hike, play and his current favorite activity is swimming. He must have been a Lab or a fish in a previous life!

Visiting the Ritter Farm - July 2009

Lars loved sleeping by the back door of the farmhouse.

Why can't they just let me off my leash so I can gallop around these fields? So many places to explore and lots of new smells!

Sound asleep in front of the old stove. Great Grandma would have loved Lars providing he kept his shark-fin teeth in check!
